How we work
Richard Geres Personal Training (RGPT) was founded in 2005. Since then we’ve trained thousands of clients, and through the experience gathered, we’ve fine-tuned our operation to offer a world-class coaching service.
Clients seek our services because they want results, and because they want to rest assured that they are getting the best possible coaching programme for their problem.
In short, this is the framework we apply to our programmes:
Discuss the underlying issue
- assess current condition
- set realistic goals (usually over 12 weeks)
- provide programming and coaching
- re-assess frequently to see if client is on track
- tweak programme if necessary to bring client in line with goals
- re-assess progress
We have developed systems that allow us to track this process reliably in all our clients.
Since 2017 we have been capturing this data with our custom developed app, that allows both clients and trainers to gain immediate access to a client’s workout and progress data.
We operate from a private training facility, located at the Corinthia Hotel St. George’s Bay, St. Julians. By private we mean that the training facility is reserved exclusively for personal training clients. No members, hotel guests, visitors. We’ve found that the only way to be able to give a professional personal training service is by having a dedicated training facility where you can train in privacy, without the crowds, and where the equipment you need is always available on demand.
For our clients that want to exercise even on days when they don’t have a scheduled personal training session, we offer a complimentary health club membership in our second gym, to which they always have access to. In addition, our clients enjoy free towel service, free water, free access to the indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna and free parking in the Hotel car park. We do our best to make you feel like a VIP.
Personal Training sessions are available from Monday to Friday between 6am – 9pm, and on Saturdays from 7am-3pm. Our Health Club gym is open all day on Sundays too.

Richard Geres has over 25 years experience in the health & fitness industry. After operating a health club for a number of years, Richard began to specialise in providing personal coaching to clients that were just not satisfied with the results they were achieving by exercising alone in a commercial health club.
Thanks to his passion and professionalism, demand grew and Richard started to build a team of trainers. The challenge was to develop a uniform training methodology and operational system that would allow all clients to receive the same level of professional and effective coaching, regardless of which trainer they were assigned to. This system is now utilised by all trainers, who record data on workouts as well as fitness and body composition assessments.
Over the last 2 years, Richard has been involved in the development of a software application to record all workout and assessment data of the club’s personal training clients. Clients have access to the app through their smartphone, which provides them with immediate information on their workouts and progress assessments.
Richard has numerous certifications in fitness and nutrition, including a Master’s Degree in Nutrition. He specialises in fat-loss and programming for health conditions such as insulin resistance, diabetes, elevated cholesterol, high blood pressure and metabolic syndrome.
